PACKING TIPS:

If you decide to undertake your own packing, rather than Atlas' full or part-packing service, you may find that the advice listed below is beneficial to protecting your goods in transit.

Ensure that each item is individually wrapped - do not 'double up' in order to save paper and time.

Only use packaging that is specifically designed for the purpose of domestic removals.

Remember, whilst books are easy to pack and stack in large numbers, they are heavy; pack books at the bottom of cartons with lighter items (such as cushions) on top.

Colour-coded labels are an easy way of indicating where cartons should be placed; the more detailed the label, the easier it will be to unpack at the other end.

Make sure that once full, each carton is taped shut, with a descriptive label and an arrow drawn on the box to indicate which way is the right way up.

Remember, it is easy to sustain an injury by lifting items in an incorrect manner. One should bend from the knees, not from the waist / back.

Make sure each carton can be comfortably lifted by one person; if the carton is heavy but not full, fill any spaces on top or to the sides with paper or bubble wrap, so that the contents cannot rattle around within or get crushed.
